Drain Cleaning

Copperhead Plumbing has mastered drain cleaning and has superior equipment for all situations. Self help remedies for drain cleaning rarely work. We use cable snakes in lavatory and tub drains to break up hair or toothpaste clogs. Our medium size drain machines work great to remove most all of the buildup on kitchen sink drains. In extreme cases, kitchen drains or sewer lines may have excess grease buildup. Our jetting machine uses high pressure water to power wash the inside of the pipes and pulses to pull its hose down the line and flush out the buildup. Our large sewer machines are powerful enough to cut and tear up roots growing into older pipes. If we suspect a line is misaligned or separated we have a camera and video monitor which we use to see if there’s a problem. If we find a problem area, the camera sends a signal we can locate outside and pinpoint the location and depth of the pipe to facilitate repairs. Our recommended drain cleaner to maintain clear drains is Bio-Clean. It is a bio enzyme which eats organic materials but leaves the pipes intact. We carry it on the trucks and it comes with a money back guarantee. Its non toxic so it’s safe around children.

Air Conditioning

Central air is now common to most all residential homes. These systems are complicated and require accurate troubleshooting to properly repair. They can also be energy hogs and suffer unnecessary breakdowns when not maintained. Our Service Agreement visit will minimize the possibility of excess energy usage, condensate drain backups and premature compressor, outdoor fan or indoor blower motor failure. This agreement also entitles the customer to discounts if service is needed. When equipment is in need of replacement Copperhead can supply and install new energy efficient systems which may save 10-20% on gas bills during the winter and 40-50% on electric bills in the summer. Systems are now more quiet, efficient and comfortable. Our company has also serviced, repaired and installed hundreds of humidifiers over the years. Indoor air quality is a major concern nowadays. The new HVAC filters we provide are 100 times more effective than a standard 1” disposable filter. These filters will even remove airborne viruses. Think about installing more efficient reliable equipment: It will benefit the environment and save you money.

Well Pumps and Well Tanks

Many homes rely on well pumps to pump water from deep in the aquifer into the home as their sole supply of water. The tank which stores water inside the house acts as a reservoir. Normally, water is drawn out of the tank which allows the pump to rest, then the pump comes on automatically to refill the tank. The tank, controls and pump need to be checked annually. None of this equipment lasts forever. Well pumps and well tanks average about 10 years. The most common pump is a submersible pump which hangs on a long vertical pipe deep in the well submersed in water. The most typical well tank has a bladder or balloon inside which is compressed while the pump is running and then expands to push water out when the pump is off. Well tanks sometimes leak like water heaters and need to be replaced in a hurry. When a well pump stops pumping, sometimes there are simple problems with wiring or controls. But if needed, we have the capability to pull pumps that are several hundred feet in the ground to change the pump and get the water back on.

Water Treatment and Water Softeners

You would expect someone who works with plumbing systems should be most knowledgeable about water conditioning and drinking water systems. Water softeners have many benefits such as giving you cleaner hair and softer skin, extending the life and maintaining the efficiency of your water heater, allowing your clothes to become as clean as possible and keeping soap and scale buildup off shower walls and plumbing fixtures. Our favorite water softener uses a digital, on-demand control to measure when a given amount of water has been treated and only regenerates when needed using as little salt and water as possible.

If we suspect a customer may benefit from having a water softener we will offer to test the mineral content or hardness as a courtesy. The Water Quality Association has set parameters regarding what level of hardness constitutes soft water, moderately hard or very hard. By the way, hard water is a term for water that is hard to clean with. Another water treatment system helps remove contaminants from drinking water. Under sink point-of-use carbon filters or better yet, reverse osmosis drinking water filtration systems produce water which is better than bottled water. Reverse osmosis filters slowly allow water molecules to pass through a cellular membrane but hold back larger molecules such as lead compounds, hydrocarbons and dozens of other impurities. These filters are important to health conscious individuals or children in their development stages.

There are many other filters with different purposes. Whole house carbon filters take out chlorine. Ultraviolet filters sterilize coliform bacteria. Neutralizers can modify the pH of water to an acceptable level. All in all, we have been supplying and installing a diverse number of water treatment systems which are commercial grade quality and reasonably priced to make your water quality the best it can be.

Water Heaters

These are appliances we depend on every day. The most common style of water heater in the US combines the storage tank and the device used to make the water hot into one unit. Heat sources include electric elements, gas burners, oil burners or a hot water boiler.

Standard gas water heaters cost much less to operate than electric units the same way a gas clothes dryer is much cheaper to operate than an electric one. The new European style tankless water heaters make hot water as needed and reduce standby losses as when a tank of hot water is stored overnight. These are around 87% efficient whereas a conventional gas water heater is 75-80% efficient.

Copperhead Plumbing has a vast knowledge of water heater capabilities, repair techniques and ideas on what to choose and what to avoid. Also, why not have someone you know, like and trust in your home versus a stranger from a home center or utility with an unknown background. These guys are just come and go 9-5 employees who don’t care half as much as we do about making sure you’re satisfied.
